A Pair of British School Late 19th Century Landscapes Oil on Board
Description
A pair of late 19th-century landscapes, British School, executed in oil on board. The first painting depicts a mountain lake scene with distant peaks and foliage in the foreground. The second work shows a pastoral landscape featuring a group of trees and a valley vista. Both pieces are rendered with a naturalistic palette of greens, browns, and blues with soft sky treatments. The works are housed in matching ornate gilt-composition frames featuring deep inner coves and decorative egg-and-dart and beaded mouldings. A small white inventory sticker with handwritten digits 9627 is present on the frame of the top painting. No signatures or dates are visible to the front of the works.
