Imperial German 1918 Pattern Wound Badge in Gold
Description
This is an Imperial German 1918 pattern Wound Badge in Gold grade. The badge is of die-stamped, hollow-back construction. The obverse features a central World War I M16 pattern steel helmet with characteristic lug vents, superimposed over a pair of crossed swords. The background is finely pebbled, all contained within an oval laurel leaf wreath that is tied with a bow at the bottom. The reverse displays the hollow-back stamping and is fitted with a functional vertical needle pin, a block hinge, and a simple wire ‘C’ catch.
