Wehrmacht 4-Year Long Service Award with Army Eagle Ribbon Device
Description
A German Third Reich period Wehrmacht 4-Year Long Service Award (Wehrmacht-Dienstauszeichnung, 4. Klasse). The medal is circular and struck in a silver-toned metal alloy. The obverse features the national emblem of an eagle clutching a swastika, surrounded by the gothic script inscription Treue Dienste in der Wehrmacht. The reverse bears a central numeral 4 within an oak leaf wreath, signifying four years of military service. The medal is suspended from its original cornflower-blue ribbed ribbon. Pinned to the ribbon is a small silvered metal device depicting the Army (Heer) and Navy (Kriegsmarine) style eagle with down-swept wings. The item is accompanied by a small white inventory tag numbered 9703.
