Description
A collection of miniature artworks comprising portrait miniatures, small-format photographs, and prints. The subject matter is varied, featuring several female portraits in historical and early 20th-century styles, a portrait of a man in military or ceremonial dress, a religious scene depicting the Madonna and Child with infant figures in the manner of the Old Masters, and a genre scene of a woman in rustic attire. The mediums include hand-painted watercolours on card or ivory, monochrome photographic prints, and printed reproductions. The collection is housed in a diverse range of frames, including ornate gilded wood or gesso frames with foliate and scroll motifs, a circular turned wood frame, and several rectangular black-finished mounts, some of which feature small metal hanging loops. A small white rectangular label marked 2819 is affixed to one of the black mounts.
