Description

A mixed collection of decorative ceramics and figurines. The primary component is a Chinese Famille Rose porcelain tea service in the ‘Wan Shou Wu Jiang’ (Longevity) pattern, likely dating from the mid-20th century. The service features a vibrant pink ground decorated with dense scrolling lotus vines, circular medallions containing gilt characters, and traditional Greek key borders. The set comprises a globular teapot with a domed lid, three handleless tea cups, and a matching circular serving tray. Accompanying the service is a circular porcelain display plaque featuring a central high-relief arrangement of hand-modelled encrusted flowers, finished with a gilt-rimmed border and delicate floral sprigs. The lot further includes a terracotta-style figurine of a seated putto, a polychrome fairy figure atop a floral base, a miniature ceramic cottage, and a small figurative group depicting children. The items display various finishes including glazed, hand-painted, and unglazed biscuit surfaces. Teapot height: 14 cm; Tray diameter: 25 cm; Plaque diameter: 20 cm.

Condition report:

The collection is in generally good condition. The tea service shows minor wear to the gilt highlights and enamel consistent with age and use. The floral-encrusted plaque has some minor losses to the delicate petals and leaves, which is typical for this type of hand-modelled work. The figurines appear largely intact with no significant chips or cracks observed, though the terracotta putto shows some light surface rubbing and the miniature cottage has minor wear to the roof edges.
