Lot 412:
Yamaha, Clarke and Others, Student and Folk Instrument Collection, Late 20th/Early 21st Century
Description
A mixed collection of entry-level and folk musical instruments. The lot features a Yamaha YRS-20B soprano/descant recorder with Baroque fingering, constructed from cream-coloured ABS resin plastic in three sections. Accompanied by a Clarke tin whistle, featuring a tapered black-finished metal body, a black plastic mouthpiece, and decorative gold-toned lettering. The percussion section includes a pair of hardwood claves with a dark reddish-brown stained finish. Also present is The Original Kazoo, contained within its original cylindrical cardboard packaging, and a small, turned wooden barrel-shaped component, possibly a replacement part for a recorder or similar folk wind instrument.
Condition report:
All items are in used, as-found condition. The Yamaha recorder is disassembled and exhibits surface scuffing and minor residue on the middle joint; it is supplied with its original green vinyl slipcase and a white cloth drawstring bag. The Clarke whistle and hardwood claves are in good used condition, though one clave has a small inventory sticker attached. The kazoo packaging shows light shelf wear and signs of age; the internal instrument remains uninspected. Instruments are untested for pitch and playability. No major structural damage or previous repairs are evident.
