Description

A fine five-piece collection of Royal Crown Derby porcelain tea service items, decorated in the celebrated Traditional Imari pattern, number 2451. The set comprises a teapot with its original lid, two cream jugs of graduated sizes, a lidded twin-handled sugar bowl, and a large open waste bowl. Each piece is expertly decorated in the characteristic Imari palette, featuring rich cobalt blue and iron red enamels, further enhanced by heavy gold gilding in intricate floral and scrolling foliate motifs. The undersides bear the red Royal Crown Derby factory mark with the crown and “England” stamp, accompanied by hand-painted pattern numbers in red. This pattern, a cornerstone of Derby production, reflects the enduring British fascination with Japanese-inspired aesthetics. Teapot length approximately 26 cm; waste bowl diameter approximately 13 cm.

Condition report:

The collection is presented in very good condition, showing no evidence of chips, cracks, or professional restoration. The gilding remains bright and well-preserved with minimal signs of surface wear or rubbing. All lids are present and correct.
