A group of silver plated ware tea service and tray
Description
This group of plated ware comprises a teapot, a two-handled open sugar bowl, a cream jug, and a circular tray. Each piece is fashioned from silver-plated white metal and features ornate embossed and engraved foliate and floral decoration. The hollowware pieces are designed with scrolling handles and are raised on pedestal bases. The teapot is fitted with a hinged lid topped with a cream-coloured circular finial. The circular tray is finished with a gadrooned or beaded border. A small adhesive label bearing the handwritten number 501 is present on the cream jug. No maker’s marks or hallmarks are visible.
