Large Vintage Painted Chalkware German Shepherd Dog Figurine
Description
A large vintage painted plaster figurine, commonly known as chalkware, depicting a reclining German Shepherd dog. The animal is rendered in a resting pose atop a textured, green-painted base, with its head tilted upwards and mouth agape. The coat is decorated with a mixture of brown, black, and tan pigments. Figures of this type are widely identified as carnival prizes from the mid-20th century and are frequently associated with the character Rin Tin Tin. A small white rectangular inventory sticker printed with the number 12673 is affixed to the front right leg. No maker’s marks or model numbers are present on the exterior surfaces.
