A Set of Colclough Amoretta Pattern Bone China Teaware

A set of bone china teaware manufactured by Colclough in the Amoretta pattern. Each piece features transfer-printed decoration of large red and white rose blooms accompanied by green and autumnal foliage. The forms are finished with scalloped rims highlighted with gilt. This group comprises an open sugar bowl, a milk jug, teacups, saucers, and side plates. The base of an upturned cup displays a red backstamp featuring a crown symbol above the name Colclough in cursive script, with the words BONE CHINA and MADE IN ENGLAND in block capitals. This mark identifies the service as a mid-20th-century product from the Staffordshire pottery.
