UK 19th-20th Century Mixed Numismatic Collection, Mixed Metals & Banknote
Description
A collection of United Kingdom currency comprising an assortment of coinage and one banknote. The banknote is a Bank of England Series D one-pound note, featuring the portrait of Sir Isaac Newton on the reverse. The coinage includes a range of denominations and reigns from the 19th and 20th centuries. Observable specimens include bronze pennies with the effigies of Queen Victoria and King George V. There is a group of brass dodecagonal threepence pieces, including dates 1942, 1943, and 1953. The collection also contains various cupro-nickel or silver-coloured denominations such as sixpences, shillings, florins, and a heptagonal fifty-pence piece. One small-denomination silver-coloured coin is protected within a clear plastic flip. Reverses generally depict standard heraldic motifs. The lot is presented in a red plastic tray with a lot label numbered 9776.
