A Collection of FR Indochina and VN Banknotes
Description
A collection of banknotes from FR Indochina and VN, spanning the colonial and post-colonial periods. The assortment includes currency issued by the Gouvernement Général de l’Indochine in denominations of 5, 10, and 20 cents (circa 1942), featuring intricate ornamental borders and multi-colour lithographic printing. The collection also comprises a variety of notes from the National Bank of VN (Ngân-Hàng Quốc-Gia Việt-Nam) in denominations of 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 500, and 1000 đồng. These notes depict diverse vignettes such as traditional sailing junks, regional portraits, and wildlife, including a prominent tiger on the 500 đồng note. Visible serial numbers include 320054 on a blue 2 đồng note (series 39-A) and 411717 on a 1 đồng note (series 28-A). Additionally, the group includes 1976 series issues from the State Bank of VN (Ngân Hàng Nhà Nước Việt Nam), featuring a 50 đồng note with agricultural machinery and a 100 đồng note showing a panoramic view of Ha Long Bay. The notes are presented in a multi-pocket collector’s album.
