Description
An American octagon drop trunk regulator wall clock manufactured by the Ansonia Clock Company of New York. The case is constructed from a stained hardwood, likely mahogany, featuring an octagonal dial surround over a tapering trunk. The white circular dial is set with black Roman numeral hour markers and an outer minute track. The dial centre bears the Ansonia name in cursive script. The eight-day spring-driven mechanical movement has two winding apertures, indicating a striking mechanism. The lower glazed door is decorated with transfer-printed text reading REGULATOR and a diamond-shaped logo containing the letter A. The brass-faced pendulum bob is visible through the trunk glass.
