Lot 136:
Mid-century modern asymmetric teak wall mirror, circa 1960s
Description
A mid-century modern wall mirror of Scandinavian influence, featuring a slender, contoured frame of stained teak or similar hardwood. The mirror is shaped in a distinctive asymmetrical rounded trapezoidal form, often referred to as a pebble or shield shape. The frame construction shows smooth, rounded edges with flush-joined corners. The mirror plate is set into the frame, with a small pre-drilled mounting hole visible through the glass towards the narrower end. The design is characteristic of British furniture manufacturing from the 1960s, reflecting the popular Danish Modern aesthetic. No maker’s marks are discernible on the front of the item.
