A Pair of Chinese Export Famille Rose Porcelain Bowls
Description
This lot comprises a matching pair of Chinese export porcelain bowls, decorated in the Famille Rose palette with elements characteristic of Mandarin style wares. The exterior of each bowl is hand-painted with polychrome overglaze enamels, depicting various figures in traditional dress situated within garden and landscape settings. The interior rims are finished with a decorative geometric diaper-pattern border in green and black. The bowls are of a footed form with glazed bases and unglazed foot rims. No legible manufacturer or reign marks are visible on either piece. One bowl has a white adhesive inventory sticker numbered 7745.
