Description
A trio of decorative ceramic animal figurines of varying styles and origins. The collection comprises:
A seated Giant Panda figurine depicted holding a sprig of bamboo. The piece features a textured glaze to the black areas to simulate fur and a smooth white glaze. This item is unmarked but is in the style of mid-20th-century decorative ceramics such as those by Maruri or Andrea by Sadek. A small adhesive price label is attached to one paw.
A figurine of a leaping fish, set against a stylized wave base. The piece is finished in polychrome glazes with a pearlescent lustre finish to the base. The underside features the printed mark FOREIGN in capital letters, a mark commonly used for 20th-century imports into the United Kingdom.
A small figurine of a crouching tiger, decorated with a warm amber-brown base glaze and hand-painted black stripe details. The paws feature unglazed white contact points on the underside.
