Description
A Victorian presentation walking cane featuring an L-shaped handle crafted from a light cream-coloured material with a fluted and ribbed texture. The handle is joined to the shaft by an ornate white metal collar featuring embossed floral relief and scrollwork surrounding a central shield-shaped cartouche. The collar is engraved with the inscription: PRESENTED TO Mr. Thos [Surname unclear] by the Members of the LEEDS TINPLATE WORKERS SOCIETY 17th Aug 1872. The shaft is composed of a tapered, polished reddish-brown wood, terminating in a dark ferrule at the tip.
