A Ringtons Tea Centenary 1907-2007 Commemorative Gift Set
Description
A Ringtons Tea centenary commemorative gift set, produced to celebrate the company’s 100th anniversary from 1907 to 2007. The set is comprised of white glazed ceramic items decorated with a royal blue and gold-tone border. It includes a teapot featuring a rounded body, a curved spout, and a loop handle. The teapot lid is printed with the dates 1907 and 2007 flanking a central gold-tone finial, and bears the legend RINGTONS CENTENARY in blue around the shoulder. The body of the teapot and the two matching mugs are decorated with the Ringtons crest, featuring a green shield with a gilded letter R within a black foliate surround.
The set is housed in its original cream-coloured presentation box, printed with RINGTONS EST. 1907 NEWCASTLE UPON TYNE and FINE TEA MERCHANTS. Additional items in the original packaging include a commemorative cream and gold tea tin bearing the 1907 date and crest, a packet of Ringtons shortbread biscuits, a 250g pack of Ringtons Kenyan Gold tea bags, and a further packaged tea item decorated with historical images of Ringtons buildings.
