A Collection of Gilt-Edged Rosebud Pattern Ceramic Tea and Dinnerware
Description
A collection of cream-coloured ceramic tea and dinnerware decorated in a traditional rosebud sprig pattern. The set includes a large twin-handled lidded tureen resting on a stack of dinner plates, a circular lidded vegetable dish, a tall lidded coffee pot, and a rounded lidded teapot. The group further comprises a lidded sugar bowl, a gravy boat, a cream jug with a matching saucer, and an assortment of teacups and saucers. A condiment set consisting of a salt shaker, pepper shaker, and mustard pot is also present. The pieces are decorated with transfer-printed pink and red rosebuds with green leaves, finished with gilded rims and gilt highlights to the handles and spouts. The service is fashioned from a cream-bodied ceramic, likely earthenware or ironstone. No maker’s marks or factory signatures are visible. An auction label numbered 9731 is affixed to the vegetable dish lid.
