An Early 20th-Century Arts and Crafts Style Oak Hall Stand
Description
An early 20th-century Arts and Crafts style hall stand constructed from solid oak. The frame features square-tapered vertical supports and arched cross-rails, with prominent circular wooden studs decorating the primary joinery points. The upper section houses a centrally-positioned vertical rectangular mirror. It is fitted with six double-pronged metal coat hooks, arranged symmetrically with three on each side support. The mid-section contains a central glove box with a flat lid, set between two semi-circular apertures for the storage of umbrellas or walking sticks. The base incorporates three inset metal drip trays to collect moisture. The piece is constructed with period-appropriate joinery and square-sectioned supports.
