Lot 49:
A Mid-20th-Century Mock-Tudor Style Dollhouse and an Assortment of Vintage Furniture and Accessories
Description
A mid-20th-century dollhouse designed in the British Tudorbethan architectural style. The house is constructed from plywood and solid wood, featuring a facade with twin gables decorated with black timber-effect detailing on a white ground. The roof is finished in red tile-effect paper and incorporates two brick-style chimneys. The central entrance consists of a recessed white door positioned behind a portico with white-painted columns. The lower portion of the exterior is clad in red brick-effect printed paper, and the window frames are finished in yellow paint with decorative lattice-work. The open-back design reveals a six-room interior layout distributed over two storeys, connected by a central hallway containing a wooden staircase. The rooms are decorated with various period-style wallpapers and flooring effects. The house is accompanied by an assortment of vintage furniture and accessories, including a cream-coloured kitchen stove, tables, chairs, a fireplace, an armchair, a tall glazed cabinet, beds, wardrobes, and dressing tables. Accessories include a small vintage box for The Dolly’s FEEDING BOTTLE and a small figure. The design is characteristic of British manufacturers such as Lines Bros (Tri-ang) from the mid-century period.
