Iris Walker - Rural Landscape with Path and Textured Grasses
Description
This landscape study is executed in watercolour and pastel on paper, depicting a rural or coastal path winding through tall grasses towards rolling hills in the background. The work is signed Iris Walker in the lower right corner. The artist has employed an impressionistic style, using soft, blended tones to render the sky and the dusty path, while the foreground vegetation is defined by textured, linear strokes characteristic of a dry medium. The composition is framed by a cluster of greenery and a building structure to the left. The piece is housed in a dark wood frame under glass and is set within a double-layered tan and cream mat. Two adhesive inventory labels marked 7627 and w are affixed to the glass.
