Queen Victoria Volunteer Force Long Service Medal
Description
A silver Volunteer Force Long Service Medal, which was established in 1894 to recognise twenty years of efficient service in the Volunteer Force. The obverse features the crowned and diademed bust of Queen Victoria facing left, with the surrounding inscription VICTORIA REGINA. The reverse shows an oak leaf wreath encircling the words FOR LONG SERVICE IN THE VOLUNTEER FORCE arranged on three scrolls. The medal is attached to a swivel bar suspension and retains a plain dark green grosgrain ribbon. A small paper tag with the handwritten number 9703 is attached to the ribbon. No naming is clearly visible on the rim in the provided photographs.
