A Group of British and Commonwealth Miniature Dress Medals
Description
A group of British and Commonwealth miniature campaign medals swing-mounted for evening dress wear. The collection includes the 1939-1945 Star, the Italy Star, the Defence Medal, the War Medal 1939-1945, the Korea Medal, and the United Nations Service Medal for Korea. The 1939-1945 and Italy Stars are six-pointed bronze stars. The Defence and War Medals feature the effigy of King George VI with the inscription GEORGIVS VI D: G: BR: OMN: REX ET INDIAE IMP:. The Korea Medal bears the effigy of Queen Elizabeth II with the legend ELIZABETH II DEI GRA: BRITT: OMN: REGINA F.D.. The United Nations Service Medal includes a KOREA clasp. The medals are suspended from ribbons on a metal mounting bar with a pin fastening. A white adhesive label bearing the handwritten number 9703 is attached to the Korea Medal ribbon.
