A Collection of Hand-Painted Metal Military Miniatures, British Colonial Infantry and Cavalry
Description
A collection of hand-painted metal toy soldiers depicting British or British Colonial forces from the late 19th to early 20th century. The figures are dressed in khaki tropical service uniforms consisting of tunics, trousers, and brown puttees, paired with white Foreign Service helmets. The group features infantrymen in various poses including marching and at-the-slope with rifles. Specialised figures include a drummer with a red and white drum and an officer or NCO wearing a blue sash. Two cavalry figures on brown horses are included, with one acting as a standard bearer holding a Union Jack flag. All figures are mounted on rectangular metal bases painted in shades of green, tan, and brown. The style and construction are consistent with traditional lead or white metal miniatures produced in the late Victorian or Edwardian style.
