Description

A group of hand-painted white metal toy soldiers produced by Tradition of London, depicting British infantry from the mid-18th century, likely from the Seven Years’ War or Jacobite Risings period. The figures are finished in a matte style and represent various ranks and roles, including infantrymen in red coats with yellow facings and others with dark blue facings. The collection features two ensigns, one carrying the King’s Colour (a white flag with a red St George’s cross and central crown) and another carrying a yellow regimental colour. Other figures are depicted in marching and standing poses with muskets and pikes. All figures wear black tricorne hats and white gaiters and are mounted on thin, irregularly shaped green-painted metal bases. A white adhesive label on the base of one figure is marked with the digits 9703.
