A Group of Vintage Hand-Painted Lead Toy Soldiers Depicting a British Highland Regiment
Description
A group of vintage hollow-cast lead miniature figures representing a British Highland Regiment in Foreign Service dress. The collection includes riflemen in various poses, standard bearers carrying Union Jack flags, and a drummer. The soldiers are uniformed in scarlet tunics, Highland kilts featuring a green, yellow, and red tartan pattern, white solar topis, and black gaiters. Each figure is mounted on a thin, green-painted rectangular base with rounded ends. A small white paper label affixed to the underside of one base displays the handwritten characters 9703. The aesthetic style and casting are characteristic of early to mid-20th-century British toy manufacturers.
