A Collection of AeroArt St. Petersburg Collection Hand-Painted Military Miniatures
Description
A collection of high-quality hand-painted military miniatures from the AeroArt International St. Petersburg Collection. These figures are constructed from white metal and depict a variety of warriors from classical antiquity, including Greek hoplites and Roman legionaries in dynamic combat and ceremonial stances. The Greek hoplites feature round shields with hand-painted motifs including the Spartan lambda and the Athenian owl, and are equipped with dories and xiphos. The Roman legionaries are depicted with large rectangular scuta, including one featuring a red and yellow chequered pattern. The collection also includes a figure holding a long-stemmed trumpet and a miniature modelled as a falling casualty. The figures are fixed to textured bases and are displayed across three dark wooden tiered plinths. A small white adhesive label with the handwritten digits 2016 is present on one shield.
