William and Mary Style Painted Wood Five-Drawer Dressing Table
Description
A William and Mary style dressing table or lowboy, constructed from wood with a painted finish. The rectangular top is positioned above a configuration of five drawers, featuring two deep flanking drawers and three shallow central drawers arranged over a scalloped kneehole apron. The drawer fronts are decorated with hand-painted foliate motifs, possibly stylized bees. The piece is supported by four bulbous turned legs, which are joined by a shaped and scrolled X-frame stretcher, terminating in block feet. The entire table is finished in a pale cream or off-white paint.
