Description
This Victorian mahogany chest of drawers is designed in a traditional configuration featuring two short drawers positioned side by side over three graduated long drawers. The carcase is constructed with rounded front corners and rests upon a simple, integrated plinth base. The primary timber used for the exterior and drawer fronts is mahogany, which exhibits a natural grain throughout. Each drawer is fitted with a pair of turned mahogany knob handles and includes a small circular inset escutcheon. The overall design and arrangement are typical of British cabinetry from the mid-19th century.
