Beswick, Silhouette d'art Vase, Ceramic, Modern
Description
Produced by Beswick as part of the Silhouette d’art collection in collaboration with Parastone, this large decorative ceramic vessel features an asymmetrical slanted top. The exterior is decorated with the iconic Tournée du Chat Noir (1896) poster artwork by Swiss-French Art Nouveau artist Théophile Alexandre Steinlen, depicting a stylised black cat against an orange and red background. The piece is crafted from glazed porcelain with a high-gloss finish and a solid black glazed interior. Text on the front includes Tournée du Chat Noir and Rodolphe Salis in the artist’s original typeface. The base is marked with the artist’s name, lifespan (1895-1923), and the manufacturer’s logos for Beswick and Parastone. This item is a modern collectable reproduction from the late 20th to early 21st century. Dimensions: Approximately 16 inches (40 cm) in height.
Condition report:
The item is in good overall condition with vibrant colours and a lustrous glaze. There are no obvious chips, cracks, or repairs visible on the exterior surfaces or the rim. The unglazed bottom rim shows some minor shelf wear and light surface soiling consistent with display and handling. A small inventory sticker (6182) is present on the front. This is a modern reproduction.
