Royal Crown Derby Old Imari Pattern 1128 Bone China Dinner Plate
Description
A fine Royal Crown Derby bone china dinner plate decorated in the celebrated Old Imari pattern, number 1128. The piece features a rich palette of cobalt blue and iron red, heavily embellished with hand-applied gilding. The central well is decorated with a complex geometric floral medallion, surrounded by a wide rim divided into alternating panels of stylised floral sprays and intricate gilded cross-hatch latticework. The reverse bears the red printed Royal Crown Derby backstamp, reading Royal Crown Derby, Made in England, (Bone China), accompanied by a small green painter’s or date mark. This pattern remains one of the most iconic examples of English porcelain influenced by Japanese Arita wares. Diameter: 10.5 inches.
Condition report:
The plate is in good overall condition. There is minor surface wear and light stacking marks consistent with age and occasional use. The unglazed foot ring and the reverse side show some light discoloration. No chips, cracks, or evidence of professional restoration were detected during inspection.
