A Royal Crown Derby Old Imari Pattern 1128 Bone China Dinner Plate
Description
An English fine bone china dinner plate manufactured by Royal Crown Derby, decorated in the celebrated Old Imari pattern, number 1128. The piece is executed in a traditional palette featuring underglaze cobalt blue, overglaze iron-red, and heavy hand-applied gilding. The central well is adorned with a multi-lobed floral medallion, surrounded by a wide rim divided into alternating radial panels. These panels display stylised floral motifs set against a deep navy ground, interspersed with red-and-white scale patterns. The reverse bears the red Royal Crown Derby factory mark with a crown and crossed batons, the pattern number 1128, and the Roman numeral date code XXXVIII, indicating a manufacture date of 1975. Various small painter’s marks are also present. Diameter: 10.5 inches.
Condition report:
The plate is in good overall condition, free from chips, cracks, or visible restoration. There is minor shelf wear and light staining to the reverse foot rim consistent with age. The gilding and enamel decoration remain bright and well-preserved.
