A Royal Crown Derby Traditional Imari Pattern 2451 Porcelain Coffee Can and Saucer
Description
A fine bone china coffee can and saucer set by Royal Crown Derby, decorated in the celebrated Traditional Imari pattern 2451. The set features a rich palette of underglaze cobalt blue and overglaze iron red, lavishly embellished with hand-applied gilding in floral and geometric motifs. The cylindrical coffee can is fitted with a gilded loop handle and features a pristine white interior. Both pieces bear the red printed Royal Crown Derby mark with England to the underside, accompanied by the hand-painted pattern number 2451 in red. This pattern, a hallmark of the factory’s production, reflects the enduring Victorian and Edwardian fascination with Japanese-inspired aesthetics. Cup height: approximately 6 cm. Saucer diameter: approximately 12 cm.
Condition report:
The set is offered in good overall condition with no visible chips, cracks, or restoration. The gilding remains bright with minimal signs of wear. A small adhesive auction label is present on the exterior of the cup.
