A Victorian Style Amberina Glass Trumpet Vase and a Sommerso Art Glass Teardrop Vase
Description
A collection of two decorative glass items. The first is a trumpet-form bud vase, likely an epergne horn, featuring amberina glass graduating from a deep cranberry red to a yellow-amber ruffled rim. The piece is further embellished with a clear glass spiral rigaree and is set into a circular brass-toned metal base. The second item is a heavy art glass vase of teardrop form, executed in the sommerso technique with a vibrant fuchsia interior core encased within thick clear glass. The trumpet vase reflects a Victorian Revival aesthetic, while the teardrop vase is characteristic of Mid-Century Modern Italian glassmaking. Neither piece bears a visible maker’s mark or signature, though an inventory sticker is present on the trumpet vase. Trumpet vase height: 21 cm. Teardrop vase length: 17 cm.
Condition report:
