Description

An antique German wall clock in the Vienna Regulator style, dating from the late 19th or early 20th century. While the maker’s mark is not clearly visible, the craftsmanship is consistent with renowned manufacturers such as Gustav Becker or Junghans. The clock features a mechanical weight-driven movement powered by two brass-cased weights. The walnut case is elaborately carved, featuring a pediment with a central shell motif and a carved eagle finial. The architecture of the case includes fluted side columns with ebonised accents and a decorative lower bracket terminating in a turned finial. The white porcelain dial displays black Roman numeral hour markers, a subdial for seconds located below the 12 o’clock position, and ornate black metal hands. The movement is visible through the glazed front door, which also reveals a large circular brass pendulum. Dimensions: approximately 115cm x 42cm x 18cm.

Condition report:

The clock is currently untested and is sold as seen. The movement appears complete but will require professional cleaning and servicing to ensure functionality. The walnut case shows age-appropriate wear to the finish with minor scuffs and surface marks consistent with its age. The porcelain dial appears to be in good condition without significant chips or hairlines. The hands, weights, and pendulum are present and appear original to the piece.
