A Neoclassical Style Giltwood and Composition Oval Wall Mirror
Description
European School, 20th Century. A Neoclassical style oval wall mirror featuring a carved and gilded frame, likely constructed from wood and composition. The frame is decorated with a continuous, repeating husk and laurel leaf motif, surmounted by a stylised shell and acanthus scroll crest. The gilded finish displays a warm patina. The inset mirror glass is clear and free of significant foxing or silvering loss. 26 x 20 inches.
Condition report:
Good overall condition. The gilded frame exhibits minor surface wear, light abrasions, and dust accumulation consistent with age. The mirror glass is in good condition with no notable damage or foxing. A small adhesive lot tag is present on the lower right of the glass.
