Description
E. Stork (20th Century), oil on stretched canvas, a pair of maritime scenes depicting Whitby Harbour, North Yorkshire. The compositions feature traditional sailing vessels with characteristic red sails at the quayside with the townscape and abbey visible in the background. The first work is signed E. STORK lower right and inscribed WHITBY upper right; the second work is signed E. STORK upper right and inscribed WHITBY lower right. Housed in matching stepped gilt wood frames. 19 cm x 24 cm each.
Condition report:
The paintings appear in good condition with some accumulated surface dust and light discolouration to the varnish. The canvases are taut and free from visible repairs. The frames show minor age-related wear, including scuffs and small losses to the gilt finish along the upper edges.
