A Two-Tone Gold 9ct Ruby and Diamond Openwork Pendant
Description
An abstract openwork pendant featuring a modern, flowing design in two-tone metal. The piece is composed of a primary yellow metal body with an overlapping white metal ribbon. Two round-cut red gemstones, consistent with rubies, are held in four-prong claw settings at the side. The white metal ribbon section is grain-set with three small round-cut clear accent stones, presumed to be diamonds. The pendant is displayed inverted in the image, with a large, tapered yellow metal bail situated at the bottom. No hallmarks or maker’s marks are visible on the metal surfaces. Based on the style and typical manufacture for this design, the metals are likely 9 or 14 carat yellow and white gold, however, as no marks are visible, it remains possible the item is gold-plated.
