Description
A collection of Staffordshire Hostess Ballerina pattern ceramic coffee service items manufactured by British Anchor. Each piece is constructed from white glazed earthenware and features a mid-century modern atomic style decoration comprising stylized starburst motifs in black, grey, and ochre orange arranged within a grid layout. The assortment includes a tall coffee pot with a fitted black lid and circular finial, a cream jug with a high-loop handle, two open bowls, several cups, and plain black saucers. The base of the pieces features a printed black mark reading Hostess TABLEWARE BY BRITISH ANCHOR STAFFORDSHIRE ENGLAND. J5 Ballerina. A white rectangular adhesive label is attached to the body of the coffee pot reading 501, and a similar auction lot label is applied to the side of one cup reading 391 beneath a barcode and the text DUALDYS AUCTIONEERS.
