A Trio of Glazed Porcelain Figurines with Musical and Figurative Themes nao
Description
A trio of glazed porcelain figurines, each finished with a high-gloss glaze and decorated in a characteristic pastel palette of lavender, pale blue, pink, and white. The first figurine depicts a young girl standing and playing a violin, wearing a pink and lavender dress with a white bow in her hair. The second figurine represents a seated woman in a voluminous light blue dress and wide-brimmed white hat, with a small bird perched on a green foliate support to her left. The third and largest piece is a multi-figure composition featuring a cello player seated behind a reclining youth wearing a large plumed hat and a ruff collar. The figures are characterised by elongated proportions and delicate facial details. A white rectangular adhesive label attached to the skirt of the seated woman figure is printed with the text SHELBY’S AUCTIONEERS LOT 299 01122602626. A smaller white rectangular adhesive sticker on the double-figure group bears the handwritten characters 12850 over 0.
