A large Poole Pottery earthenware decorative charger
Description
An English earthenware decorative charger produced by Poole Pottery. The interior is decorated with a vibrant, stylized floral design featuring three large orange flowers with dark, textured centres and teal-toned lanceolate leaves. These elements are set within a pale blue central well and bordered by a wide bright yellow rim. The reverse of the charger is finished in a uniform light blue glaze. The face of the vessel presents a small printed circular mark in black consisting of a dolphin device and the word POOLE. The underside features a printed circular backstamp in blue reading POOLE POTTERY ENGLAND surrounding a central dolphin motif. There is a small hand-painted mark in a dark colour appearing as the character S near the footring. A partially torn cream-coloured paper label is also present on the base, bearing the printed text ACKSON .00.
