A Trio of Decorative Middle Eastern Style Daggers and an Edged Implement
Description
A group comprising two curved daggers in the Middle Eastern jambiya or koummyia style and a separate pointed implement. The larger dagger is constructed from gold-tone metal with embossed foliate and geometric patterns to the hilt and scabbard. It is embellished with four faceted red glass or synthetic cabochons, two set into the hilt and two into the scabbard, and features two suspension loops. The second, smaller dagger is of similar construction with embossed metalwork but lacks the gemstone embellishments. The third item consists of a slender, pointed metal blade terminating in a spherical orange handle encased within a gold-tone filigree cage. A white rectangular adhesive label attached to one scabbard reads SHELBYS AUCTIONEERS above LOT and 252, with the number 01132502626 below. A smaller white adhesive label on the other scabbard reads £ 125.50.
