UK 1950s-1980s QEII Mint Stamp Collection, Wilding and Machin Multiples
Description
A collection of mint, unused United Kingdom postage stamps featuring definitive and commemorative issues from the reign of Queen Elizabeth II. The assembly includes multiple large blocks of pre-decimal Wilding definitive stamps in 1d blue and 2d orange denominations. Commemorative issues from the early 1960s are present as singles and multiples, including issues inscribed 1660 General Post Office 3d, C.E.P.T. 2d, POST OFFICE SAVINGS BANK 1861-1961, and 2 1/2d PRODUCTIVITY YEAR. Later decimal Machin definitive stamps are featured in various blocks and strips, with values including 1p, 2p, 3p, 4p, and 5p. The collection also contains multiple large blocks of 20p black and gold Machin stamps. Several blocks include marginal labels with printed text reading Please use the postcode and Books of 10 Greetings stamps are available in books of 10. The stamps are housed within a white stock album with handwritten pencil annotations for the years 1960 and 1961.
