Walt Disney Mickey Mouse Safe-Toy Cinema No. 0 Projector with Original Box
Description
A vintage Mickey Mouse Safe-Toy Cinema No. 0 home movie projector set, produced circa 1930s under licence from Walt Disney. The set comprises a hand-cranked projector constructed from metal with a black enamel finish and a chrome-plated lens tube, a separate metal take-up reel with handle, and original paper instructions. The original illustrated cardboard box features a green ground with red lettering and lithographed Mickey Mouse graphics. The box front is marked FOREIGN MANUFACTURE and FILMS PRINTED IN ENGLAND, a designation common for German-made toys imported to the United Kingdom during this period. The set includes one small cardboard film box labelled No. 53 Mickeys Tuneful Tigers. The projector is designed for the manual advancement of 35mm film strips and was originally marketed as complete with a lamp, battery, and three films.
