A Collection of Vintage Board Games, Chess Sets, and Toy Vehicles including Waddingtons Monopoly
Description
This lot features a selection of mid-20th century games and toys. The primary item is an early UK edition of the Monopoly board game, manufactured in Great Britain by John Waddington Ltd. of London and Leeds. The illustrated box lid displays the Monopoly logo, a steam locomotive, and the ‘Rich Uncle Pennybags’ character, and is marked with ‘Reg. Trade Mark No. 565017’ and ‘Pat. App. For No. 3796/36’. The collection also includes a Bezique card game set in a textured maroon cardboard box with gold-coloured lettering to the lid. Chess equipment comprises a small wooden-framed travel board with red and white pieces, alongside a separate box containing a collection of turned wooden chess pieces in natural and black-stained finishes. The lot is completed by a group of small-scale toy vehicles, consisting of various die-cast metal and plastic models including racing cars, a white police car, and a white car featuring blue racing stripes and the number 3.
