A Pair of Framed Needlework Pictures including a Bothy Threads Woodland Fox and a Map of Yorkshire
Description
A pair of framed needlework pictures featuring hand-worked cross-stitch embroidery on fabric. The first work depicts a fox in a seated pose amongst dense green foliage, consistent with the Bothy Threads Woodland Fox kit design. The second work is a pictorial map titled A MAP OF YORKSHIRE, featuring various regional landmarks and locations including Whitby, Fountains Abbey, Carlisle-Settle Railway, Castle Howard, Ripon Minster, York, Scarbro, Bridlington, Beverley, The Shambles, Goole, Grimsby, Humber Bridge, Civic Hall, Leeds, Halifax, Skipton Castle, Settle, and Haworth Parsonage. The map is also labelled for North Yorkshire and West Yorkshire. The fox picture is housed within a cream mount and a dark wood frame with a gilt-effect inner slip. The map is framed to the edge of the stitched border in a matching dark wood and gilt-effect frame. The fox picture bears a Shobrooke Auctioneers label numbered 127 and a handwritten price tag of £28.50.
