A Pair of Capodimonte Ceramic Floral Decorative Items
Description
A pair of Capodimonte glazed ceramic decorative items, comprising a tall ewer and a lidded twin-handled bowl. The pieces are finished in a cream-coloured glaze and decorated with hand-painted applied ceramic flowers in high relief, including poppies, lilies, and daisies in shades of orange, white, yellow, and purple. Both items feature gilt accents on the rims, handles, and pedestal bases. The ewer has a slender neck, a single scroll handle, and a bulbous body supported by a flared pedestal base. The lidded bowl is a wide, squat form with two scroll handles and a domed lid topped with a pointed gilt finial. A small white rectangular tag on the ewer is handwritten with 501. An auction sticker on the ewer reads SHELBYS AUCTIONEERS LOT 107 01132502626.
