Three Mdina Glass Strapped Vessels
Description
A three-piece set of Mdina glass vessels featuring the strapped technique. The collection comprises a tall cylindrical vase, a square-shouldered decanter with a spherical stopper, and a smaller cylindrical vase. Each piece is constructed with a hand-blown interior core of swirled ruby red, orange, and amber glass, encased in an external random trailing or strapped overlay of translucent dark blue glass. The trailing is manipulated to create an organic, textured lattice with irregular openings revealing the coloured interior. The base of one vessel features an incised cursive Mdina signature. The decanter retains a lot label for Shelbys Auctioneers.
