A Pair of Poole Pottery Delphis Range Triangular Ceramic Dishes
Description
A pair of Poole Pottery ceramic dishes from the Delphis range, each of triangular form. The dishes feature hand-painted abstract designs in a vibrant palette of red, orange, green, and yellow on a red ground, with patterns defined by bold black outlines. The underside of each dish features a printed mark in black consisting of a dolphin logo above the words POOLE England. Both pieces also bear the impressed shape number 81. The first dish includes a hand-painted artist’s monogram in black resembling a stylized f and p, and the second dish features a hand-painted monogram in black consisting of a grid or hashtag symbol. The front of the first dish carries a white rectangular adhesive label printed with SHELBYS AUCTIONEERS LOT 290 01132502626. The front of the second dish carries a small white rectangular adhesive label with the handwritten number 12847.
